North Central Vietnam: Mai Châu + Pù Luông (Off Road) (3D2N)

North central of Vietnam is a region with many ethnic minorities live together. The area has an average elevation of over 1,000 m, the well-known destinations such as Mai Chau, Ho, nice beaches.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau , ~160 km (L, D)

Leaving Hanoi in early in the morning in order to avoid the busy.  We ride our motorcycles west to Mai Chau, an area of beautiful landscape and home to the Thai ethnic minority. We will motorcycle on forgotten French road No 6, passing extensive farming lands comprising a sea of paddy fields split by tree-lined roads punctuated by limestone karst scenery. Here is known as Ha long bay on mountain.  We will cross Thung Khe, one of the most beautiful mountain passes in North Vietnam then descent to the mountain valley settlement of Mai Chau. ( Home to the white Thai people who are living in houses on stilts).  Arrive Pom Coong village.  Have our lunch at our home stay where of the green and beautiful peaceful rice fields and the breathtaking mountain scenery surrounding you.  After a short break, we will take a troll around the village and learn more the local people lives.  In the evening, after dinner, we can enjoy a cultural show of Thai dance and ruou can (traditional sweet rice wine) Overnight in Mai Chau.

Day 2: Full day Offroad tour in Pu Luong Nature Reserve. (B, L, D)

After breakfast at our homestay, leave Mai Chau and head to south into the Pu Luong Nature Reserve.  We drive through villages, terraced fields.  The weather around this area in the winter (from November to January) is foggy which would increase the challenge for drivers.  We will return to Mai Chau in late afternoon, around 6 pm.  Stay another night in Mai Chau.

Day 3: Mai Chau – Hanoi ~200 km (B, L)

Today, we will drive back to Hanoi, however, we will not take the same road. After Thung Khe Pass, we will drive to Muong village where we can see the rice fields over the mountain slopes. Take the Ho Chi Minh trail.  We only drive on a very small section of the trail.  We get back to Hanoi around 5 pm. End of trip
